Back to Work!

I did my first official 'work' as a consultant down in Southern California right by Disneyland! Maggie came to work with me one day dressed up in her Disney princess outfit. She was the hit of the tradeshow!

We have SO many great pictures but one of us left the cord for the camera to download in the hotel... so this is the only shot I have, from my Iphone. More to follow!

Smiling in the Swing

So I sound like a crazy grandma on here trying to make him smile, but it worked. That's why the old ladies use such high-pitched voices all the time...

Fuzzy Visitor

This morning I scratched Keegan on his noggin with my fingernail. He gave me this pouting look and stuck out his lower lip:

So mid morning I go downstairs to check on Keegan, who is like his dad in that he's napping on the couch. Right out the glass door is this scraggly looking deer staring right at me! By the time I ran upstairs to get my camera he was on his way out. See proof:
Yes, we have gotten so much rain here that there are Deer-attracting puddles in our backyard. At least up in Tahoe it was snow!

Lots of Sugar cuz we're Snowed In!

Nana and Euchre ready to cruise down our snow zone!

Yes, it's a smile! And he's handing them out for free these days. Along with dirty diapers too.
Biggest bubble bath ever. Trying to stay occupied in the middle of the blizzard...
Papa taking Maggie for a wheel barrow ride

We're snowed in due to a Winter Storm up here in Tahoe! So, to keep the kids entertained, this morning we made pancakes with bits of brownie in them! Big hit...

Then yesterday for Valentines day the kiddos got Fun Dip valentines. Check out Maggie's giant green tongue!

Nana has been able to get lots of smiles out of Keegan. I'm just slow with the camera. Here was the closest I got to capturing it!

So Darn Sick!

Baby Kong (as Papa has nicknamed him) has been kicked around by the latest virus- RSV which then settled into his lungs and he now has bronchiolitis.  Long word for such a little guy!  We were sent home with a nebulizer and he sucks in some altered, vaporized cocktail that is supposed to bring him back to his normal self.  He's beat the fever and is just dealing now with a nasty sounding cough that peaks out at about 5am.

However, he's still showing us his smile and is growing a ton. He was 13 lbs 8oz when we brought him in at 6 weeks, and is now officially wearing the 6-9 month PJs due to his long chicken legs he inherited from Papa (not Daddy though!)

He's falling for an older woman

Keegan and Josie had a little hang out time this morning. Josie is 6 weeks older, but I'm ok with him falling for an older gal. Pretty cute kids!

He's Smiling!

I didn't really catch it with the camera, but yesterday (my birthday!) we got some great smiles out of Keegan. Here's the closest thing I have to proof!

Todeay I'm half as old as my Dad!

I consider myself lucky to have a birthday so close to a major holiday. Although Groundhog day always casts a shadow on my birthday (excuse the pun...) I consider Feb 3rd a great day to be born.

My dad called me today to wish me a happy birthday. He pointed out that I am exactly half his age. He's 70. So now you know how old I am.

How many times in your life can you say you're half as old as your dad?

Here's a picture my mom sent me today of my Dad and me on my wedding day. He's the best. Thanks to everyone for their well wishes to me on BIG OLE number 35!

A Final Goodbye To Gonny

My sweet, 99 year old grandma, "Gonny" was buried today in Minnesota. Although for the past decade she hasn't been quite the spunky lady I'll always remember her as, it's tough to have to really say goodbye.

Some of Gonny's best teachings:
"Service is the rent you pay for the space you occupy"
"This above all, to thine own self be true" (I think she got that one from someone else)

Age is a quality of mind.

If you have left your dreams behind,
If hope is cold,
If you no longer look ahead,
If your ambitions' fires are dead --
Then you are old.

But if from life you take the best,
And if in life you keep the jest,
If love you hold; No matter how the years go by,
No matter how the birthdays fly-- You are not old.

And in Gonny's case, it was pretty true! Gonny was my golfing bud, and although I could wack a 200 yard drive, she's always beat me because she'd pull out her 4 wood and hit perfectly straight shots right up the middle until it was putting time. Which of course she prevailed at, as a member of the lady's putting club!

Cheers to Gon Bon and her yummy smelling Windsor cocktails. We will have no Regrets.

Delayed Xmas '09

Xmas dinner at delayed Xmas '09!  Mikes chili and a bit of wine followed up by the Mexican Train tourney.  Yes, Molly won.
The whole gang, from San Fran, Park City, Hong Kong and San Diego!
Molly snuck this shot through the Xmas tree of Nana holding Keegan
Here's the fam minus Keegan hitting the slopes in Nana and Papa's neighborhood!
Kiki emits an angelic glow through Keegan.  Katie just turned 31! YEAH!
Keegan snoozing in the awesome blanket Suzie sent him. It's our top swaddle blanket!
Molly came flew in from HONG KONG to celebrate.  Each morning now when we talk to Maggie about Aunt Molly she says "I'm going to Hong Kong to visit!"  On her own?

Katie teaching Keegan the importance of eye contact.  Keegan is ONE MONTH OLD!
Molly using the boppy, and learning that the little ones don't really have neck muscles
Me and Magpie.  Thanks to Aunt Barbara and Nana who tended to Keegan so I could go send my #1 down the mountain at high speeds!
The whole crowd on a walk as the snow melted.  Mike made his infamous Chili for our Xmas dinner!

The two Nanas, once again wearing the same color just to confuse Maggie!
Opening presents!

Blanket from Grammie T!

Yesterday we got this great blue blanket my mom made for Keegan. Of course Maggie tried to take it and give him the pink one which Grammie T had made for Maggie 2 years ago. Prayers for my grandma Gonny, who is fighting hard to stay with us a few more days. She is 99 years old and I have way too many fun memories of her, mostly of playing golf with a cute 80 year old as a cute high schooler myself!

His Eyes are Clearing Up!

Each day his eyes get a little better. The Docs said it would take 3 weeks, and here we are approaching 4 weeks and he's still got proof in his eyes of his quick, rough entry into this world! So, I messed with the pictures a little bit so no one can really tell!

Here is Maggie in her favorite new stance: holding onto Keegan:

Keegan konked out after Steph soothed him down. He's hit a bit of the fussy period in the early evenings. Last night however he napped right through it!

Keegan in his cool Daddy's Little Monster outfit from the Zemans. Brian was so excited about it he put it right on him, even though it's for a 6 month old. Um, it fit fine, so no worries!

Quick funny story: at breakfast this morning Brian and Maggie had their orange juice, I didn't have any. Maggie looked at me and said "Mommy, where's your orange juice?" I said, "Oh Mags, I don't want any right now" to which she replied "You want some wine?"

Man they learn fast.

2 week Stats

Yesterday we had Keegan's 2 week appointment. He's doing great. He is now 10 lbs 14 oz and super long. The Dr. thought he seemed extremely healthy and we don't have to go back until 2 months! GREAT! Here are a few recent pictures. His eyes are still red, but some of the red is slowly becoming pink, and will hopefully at some day become WHITE.

Eyes closed, looking peaceful:

Beware, demon red eyes:

Our whole new family. (fuzzy hat on my chest belongs to Keegan, so he was there too). Maggie, Nana, Keegan and I took the Gondola up to meet Brian and Pops while they were boarding/skiing. It was 11am and they had already stopped for a beer. Did I mention they left the house at like 9? Rough day at the slopes...

Sunday, January 11, 2009

We packed up and headed to the mountains to Nana and Papa's house. Maggie stays a bit more entertained with the sledding and Village nearby and it allows me to chill a bit more as there are extra hands to hold Keegan!

Keegan (still red-eyed) hanging out with Dad

I love this picture- Brian is wearing Keegan in the Bjorn and pulling Maggie in the sled on our walk down to the Village.

Here is Keegan with Nana. 11 days old.

We walked down to the Village and Maggie watched all the little kids in ski school. She doesn't qualify yet, you have to be 3 years old. She keeps saying "I WANT TO SKI" and I remind her we are a family of snowboarders! Here I found a nice spot to feed Keegan.

Later, Brian and I snuck off for about 45 minutes. Maggie was napping and I had just fed Keegan. This is the sight we came back to- Papa with Keegan passed out on his chest.

Maggie and Nana getting ready to go out and go sledding!

While waiting on hold for the IRS...

Since I started consulting, I never knew anything about quarterly tax payments... hence the 30 minutes on hold with the IRS to learn from a mean, know-it-all IRS lady that I actually don't have to file this quarter! YEAH!

Even Visine Super Strength won't help on these eyes! They're slowly getting less red though. And check out Maggie, our new photo-ham kid!

Keegan's first bath. He HATED it. Granted, I think we got some soap in his gross belly button thingie. Which by the way, just fell off! Away with the stench of raw flesh becoming jerky! As you can tell from this picture Brian got stalled by the childproof aspect of the baby soap!

This is the same shot we got of Bri with Maggie. Right after this pic I gave Bri a haircut

One Week Old!

A lot of people have been asking to see Keegan's eyes. Since his trip down was so rough right now he has just RED where most people have whites of their eyes. The Doctor said this is common (sure...) and it should go away in 3 weeks. And it's not blood shot red, it's just blood red. Here is a decent pic of the red. You can also see the IV marks on his little hands:

Here he is a little more peaceful. But you can still see the bruising under his eyes. Our little prizefighter!

How cute is this little boy? He is doing so well and pretty much is like every other baby in that he only sleeps, poops, and eats. And as of today at 8pm (SEVEN DAYS OLD, YEAH!) he is eating a TON. Really, like allll the time.

Keegan in his Bundle me from Lisa and Tom. It's pretty cold here in Nor Cal right now so we're taking advantage of this bundle me. We took Mags to the park and Keegan just chilled in his carseat the whole time.

Possibly the happiest kid ever? Seriously she loves her little hungry brother SO much! Jen caught this shot and is therefore photographer of the year from the Mulloy supporters.

So tomorrow is Monday and Brian starts his 10 days of Paternity leave! So we have 10 days now to work through this adjustment which thus far has been EASY and fun and we're waiting for it to get as rough as everyone tells us it is! Thanks for all the kind words and emails!
