Keegan's new thing is throwing an absolute FIT when I try to put him in his high chair. This, in turn = not fun meal time or very incomplete meals. So Maggie headed down to the storage room and brought up the booster chair for me. Actually, she brought up two but I'll get to that in a second. Here was my first trial (I know, fairly unsafe on the middle of the island). However, he was very stoked and I opted to move forward.
So this morning, post bath (hadn't combed his hair down yet) he sat somewhat like a big boy at the table. When Maggie was this age we were using my grandma's special antique dining room table and I used to stress about every spill. This round we're on an old Craig's list purchase and I'm considering just tossing the placemats and cleaning off the surface after each meal. More food on the floor than the table is one issue...
The other issue is that my 35 week preggo body apparently is a little too much for the Craig's List chairs to handle! Right now I've got this one out of commission, the second one with Keegan's high chair still strapped on, and then two with booster seats on them (this is what happens when you have a 3 year old that loves booster seats and HAD to bring up the other one when she got one for Keegan). This leaves no where for me to sit, but with my track record with chairs these days that's maybe a good thing.
Final note: it's snowing again here (2 May!?) and Brian is deep sea fishing in Cabo with his dad and brothers (in-law-included). Trying to decide if I should toss this chair when the trash comes tomorrow or if Brian can repair it upon his return.
