Keegan James Mulloy is here!

10 lbs 7 oz and 23 3/4 inches long!  Keegan James Mulloy arrived on the 28th at 8pm.  Once again it was an exciting labor and I made it through without the need for drugs.  Labor started on its own in the morning and we were able to watch the Vikings game, and even most of the Charger's win prior to Keegan's arrival.

He came into the world with a bang and was pretty beat up.  His face is purple and his eyes are REALLY swollen. The nurses says this happens about once a year from a QUICK trip into the world.  We are truly blessed!
Papa and Nana watched Maggie.  It was Papa's birthday on the 29th so we had a pizza and beer party in my hospital room
Maggie doesn't want to let anyone else hold Keegan.  Here you can tell the contrast in their coloring!
I took this picture when Keegan was a few hours old just to show how beat up his face looked!
We had no idea he would be this big. It took them a little while to weigh him (since he popped into the world before the Dr was even ready!)
Maggie LOVES her little brother!

Big kid. This was the moment after he was born. The nurse kept saying "I've never seen a baby this big before!"  So much for Newborn Diapers and 0-3 baby clothes, he's in the 6 month gear!
Our whole new family checking out Keegan and, of course, watching football at the hospital

The First Five Years are the Easiest, right?

It's official! We've been married 5 years as of today (and- if you're wondering, no I'm not in labor yet). When I met Brian back in 1993 during Basic Training at the Academy, I NEVER would have believed that in 09 we'd have been married for 5 years and have sprout number two on the way!

Here are a few pictures from our wedding day five years ago! We considered it an elopement since we had 2 weeks notice to put it together and opted to go for 2 days after Xmas in Tahoe.

Officically OVERDUE!

NO, thanks everyone for the emails, texts and calls, but we do not have a baby. So I am officially overdue! I think having a baby a few days after Xmas will be fine, but the torture that the chaos, wrapping paper, and toys everywhere instills upon a uber pregnant woman who is in a DEEP NESTING phase is not fair! Add to the extreme nesting the fact that I am a bowling ball who is not very nimble and it means I'm constantly asking Brian to clean up or move stuff that I can't make happen myself!

Yesterday was a super fun day and I'm so glad Maggie got to have this Xmas by herself. Xmas eve she opened up a tea set from Lisa and Tom and kept giving us tea over and over. When I asked what flavor it was she just said "Maggie's FAVORITE!" We went to the children's mass and Maggie was somewhat behaved. She kept yelling out "I WANT TO SEE BABY JESUS" and at one point said "Mommy, you're being SO good in church!" Just trying to set the example crazy kid.

Xmas morning was lots of fun and we actually hid some of the many gifts she got so we can reintroduce them the next few months. Funny Xmas story: I've been trying to teach Maggie that Xmas isn't all about Santa, but that it's about Baby Jesus (thanks Will Ferril making it sound funny every time I say Baby Jesus). So we're driving home from a friends looking at Xmas lights and I keep saying "look for Santa on the rooftops" -meaning the big blow up light santa/reindeer combos that apparently are very popular for the elderly crowd in Northern Cali.

Maggie yelled to me: "No Mommy, I'm looking for Baby Jesus!!" So I guess maybe she listens!?

The Bells graced us with their presence, Nana and Papa snuck down the mountain from Truckee

Elmo Slippers and all, before the chaos began:

Weds Brian brought Maggie into work with him. He took her to see the airplanes and 'draw' in his office. Gave me a nice break on my Last Day of Work before this baby kid rolls into town!

Teaser Shots: Not the New Baby

I figured I'd put some pictures of Maggie on here so when number 2 finally shows ups we can remember a bit of what our little peanut looked like! And so here we are now on Xmas Eve. Just waiting on a baby. Which is fine. I feel fine, and it will definately be more controlled chaos to slip through this holiday without a baby. But then we go right into our FIVE year anniversary on Sat, and Papa's bday on Monday. This kid must be holding out for his 'own' special day
How sweet is this little gal? She came out after 5 hours of labor and no drugs!
Here is Bri when Mags first came and joined us.

Below:
Godmother Molly picked up and drove from the bay area in record time (she is now in Hong Kong as the tech godess from America slated to run both Starbucks and the Xbox people as soon as they realize her potential- further more she is the tallest female in Hong Kong at nearly 6 feet)
What was I thinking? Michelob Ultra as my first post-baby beer? Seriously? Lisa and Tom the brewmakers would flip. This time I want a wheaty Heffa with a big ole slice of lemon!
Nana utilizes the Boppy in order to expedite beer and pizza consumption

3 days to go. Still No Baby!

Every night I make Brian go to bed early with me- with Mags my labor started at 2:30 am! I keep saying "Even if it starts at 11:00, we'll have a couple of hours of sleep in us by then!" And every morning we wake up- sans the contractions and a new baby! Which is OK, because I know they only come out when they're ready.... but....

So here it is the Monday before my due date. Maggie's daycare is closed, it's rainy out for the umpteenth day in a row, and I'm considering trying to keep working today which means a lot of Elmo, play dough and juice boxes to distract Maggie!

The fun thing is that my fingers have started swelling up like small sausages. Brian asked me why I wasn't wearing my wedding band and I pointed out that my circus hands were not suitable any more!

On a positive note: all Xmas shopping is done, all gifts are wrapped, and the house is pretty clean!

Maggie and the 5 day to Go Belly

This camera on our mac has really changed our lives. When Maggie was a peanut, I would use it to send daily pictures to my sister since she has a boring job at the pentagon. I'd try and find ways to make her laugh. Still do! This morning we took some Belly shots- Mags holding on to the triple watermelon size mass that is strapped to what was formerly known as my waist!

Sure enough I just got an email that Lisa liked the lastest shots. And I think her work is dragging her down right now so I'm just proud to have lightened the mood.

I should add that in a week Lisa will be snowboarding in Breck with her hubby while I am with my hubby in a hospital room trying to bring out this baby boy! Live it up while you can little sis!

A few pics from the old days with Mags. Back when the office was an office, and the stocked bar with wine on top (see previous shots) was not a mere arm's reach away!

Less than a week

I saw the Dr yesterday (since now it is 2 am and I'm up because who knows why!) and we had some progress. He seems to think we might meet this boy soon! I took this 2am wakeup time to go back and look at some old pictures of life when it was just the two of us, well or even Brian, Euchre, and me. Here are some fun shots from the old days:

Xmas in South Dakota
Back at the Air Force Academy when we were freshman. Obviously the Jack Daniels was not allowed. Some say this is where it all began, but I don't know how Brian could have been attracted to me in that cool camo uniform we wore each day!
At Woodlake in NC right after we got engaged, and then our dog Euchre. Great engagement gift. The first night I asked if we could take him back
Destin Florida visiting Horin
Me and my old plane, the A-10. With my dad. This was at my graduation from A-10 training
Brian in his big ole B-1. Somehow they let me in to taxi it. Doesn't really seem legal, eh?

10 days to go!??

Well, until the due date!! Who knows what comes next and when it will happen. I think there are very few surprises in life we can be HAPPY about the outcome. Finding the sex of the baby, and of course just the excitement of WHEN the baby shows up are 2 of the unknowns that I love. Before Maggie, every night I'd say to Bri "Think this is our last night???" and lo and behold she was 5 days late and I stressed about it for 2 weeks! This time around I'm just enjoying every last bit we have as the 3 of us and wait for this baby boy to crash into our world! Here are some pics of Maggie!

It's Baby Time!

Only 2 more weeks until we hopefully have a baby. Maggie wants to name him either "2 minutes", Toy, or Kyessa. Hmm, tough options for us. Here are some pics of my way tooooo big belly, and also Tom and Lisa when they tore themselves away from their important Pentagon jobs to hang out in North Cali! Note Tom and Brian in matching shirts. Lisa and I couldn't pull that off because I can't fit into ANYTHING!
